Ms. Leslie Satt
Greetings Marsh Families and Friends!
Welcome to our website. My name is Leslie Schiavo and I am the proud principal of the H.A.Marsh Elementary school. Our school houses students from PreK to fourth grade. Our universal preschool program begins at age 3. I am honored to be able to watch your children develop and learn over the course of their elementary years.
I joined the Absecon Family at the end of October 2022. I began my career in education in 1999 as a Spanish teacher for first-third grade students. At the elementary level, I also taught in an inclusion setting, English language learners classroom, reading and math specialist. My most recent teaching position was as a high school Spanish teacher, where I was named the 2020 Atlantic County Teacher of the Year. Over the past 20 years, I have worked with students from PreK to twelfth grade but I realized that I was truly missing the younger students and that I was ready for a change.
Educationally, I earned a Bachelor of Arts from Albright College in Spanish with a concentration in Education. I completed my Master’s degree in Educational leadership in 2003 from Capella University. Most recently, I completed a certificate in Applied Educational Neuroscience from Butler University.
As my own three children began college, my professional goal became to become an elementary school principal. I am fortunate to have been selected to join the Absecon School District as the Marsh school principal. I believe in the importance of a community school. Educators, parents, and community members work together to support and enhance the education of children of Absecon.
I welcome the opportunity to discuss any questions, concerns, or suggestions you may have regarding the programs at Marsh Elementary School. Please feel free to contact me at 609-641-5375 or [email protected].
